Ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinets ship flat-packed and are assembled on site or in your shop. Pre-assembled cabinets arrive as finished boxes. The cabinet can be identical – the difference is how much air you pay to ship.
Where the money goes
- Shipping volume: a flat-packed cabinet takes a fraction of the space of an assembled one, so far more fit in a container.
- Assembly: plan roughly 15–30 minutes per cabinet for an experienced installer.
- Damage: flat packs are less prone to corner and frame damage in transit.
Quality is about the box, not the delivery form
What matters is the material: a plywood box holds screws better and handles moisture better than particleboard. Ours are all-plywood.
